Hoạt động thể chất có thể cải thiện chức năng và giảm chi phí chăm sóc sức khỏe ở những người cao tuổi thừa cân và béo phì. Mặc dù hoạt động thể chất không có cấu trúc đã liên quan đến những cải thiện về tim mạch và chuyển hóa, nhưng mối quan hệ giữa hoạt động không có cấu trúc và chất lượng vận động vẫn chưa rõ ràng.
