Een proximale humerusfractuur is een relatief veelvoorkomende fractuur na een val bij ouderen. Vasculair letsel bij een proximale humerusfractuur is echter een zeldzame complicatie. Een casus van een proximale humerusfractuur gecompliceerd door een dissectie van de arteria axillaris wordt beschreven.
