Tóm tắt Đặt vấn đề Giới trẻ có nguy cơ cao về các hoạt động tình dục không an toàn và không bảo vệ ngay cả trước khi kết hôn. Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu là mô tả hành vi tình dục và việc sử dụng biện pháp tránh thai ở thanh thiếu niên chưa kết hôn tại Sri Lanka và đánh giá các yếu tố liên quan đến hành vi tình dục. Phương pháp Nghiên cứu cắt ngang mô tả quan sát đã được thực hiện tại ba quận được lựa chọn ở Sri Lanka từ ngày 1 tháng 3 năm 2019 đến ngày 31 tháng 1 năm 2020 với 1057 thanh thiếu niên chưa từng kết hôn thông qua bảng hỏi tự điền. Phương pháp phân tầng cụm và phương pháp lấy mẫu tuyết lăn đã được sử dụng để chọn những thanh thiếu niên chưa kết hôn đủ điều kiện. Các yếu tố liên quan đến quan hệ tình dục đã được đánh giá bằng phương pháp hồi quy logistic. Kết quả So với nam giới (26%), có nhiều nữ giới (35%) tham gia vào quan hệ tình dục không được bảo vệ. Trong số thanh thiếu niên chưa kết hôn có hoạt động tình dục dưới 20 tuổi, 10% đã quan hệ tình dục với một người không quen biết. Giới trẻ Tamil và trong lĩnh vực bất động sản có khả năng quan hệ tình dục thấp hơn đáng kể so với giới trẻ Sinhala và đô thị (OR = 0.390, CI = 0.213-0.715, p = 0.002 và OR = 0.807, CI = 0.709-0.978, p = 0.020 tương ứng). Giới trẻ tại khu vực nông thôn (69.5%) và khu vực đô thị (87.3%) có xu hướng sử dụng biện pháp tránh thai trong khi quan hệ tình dục so với giới trẻ trong lĩnh vực bất động sản (51.1%). Kết luận Một tỷ lệ đáng kể thanh thiếu niên đang phải đối mặt với hành vi nguy cơ tình dục bao gồm quan hệ tình dục không được bảo vệ ngay cả trước khi kết hôn, điều này có thể góp phần vào nhiều hệ lụy xã hội và sức khỏe. Cần có các can thiệp tập trung để giải quyết vấn đề này.
