Khả năng chịu đựng của các quần thể Acacia sau khi tiêm nhiễm với tác nhân gây bệnh nấm Ceratocystis ở Việt Nam

Việc tiêm nhiễm hai quần thể Acacia đã được sử dụng để ước tính mức độ kiểm soát di truyền đối với khả năng chịu đựng bệnh chồi Ceratocystis và bệnh thối rễ sau khi tiêm nhiễm với tác nhân gây bệnh, Ceratocystis manginecans. Sàng lọc đầu tiên đã sử dụng một loạt các giống cây thường được trồng ở Việt Nam cùng với các giống cây ứng viên mới và cung cấp bằng chứng cho thấy sự biến thiên trong triệu chứng thối rễ nằm dưới một mức độ kiểm soát di truyền vừa phải trong các quần thể đang được triển khai hiện nay. Các đánh giá sau đó về khả năng chịu đựng trong thử nghiệm dòng dõi của Acacia auriculiformis cho thấy rằng các đánh giá chiều dài tổn thương bên trong ít bị ảnh hưởng bởi chiều cao cây con và cho ra các ước tính di truyền cao hơn so với các đánh giá chiều dài tổn thương bên ngoài. Các ước tính di truyền cho thiệt hại đối với các lá phyllode bị tách ra sau khi tiêm nhiễm đã tăng từ 2 đến 4 tuần, lúc này nhiều lá đã bị hư hại hoàn toàn. Các đánh giá tổn thương phyllode có di truyền cao hơn so với các đánh giá tổn thương thân, và các tương quan di truyền dương giữa tổn thương thân và phyllode cho thấy rằng các gia đình sẽ được xếp hạng tương tự cho cả hai đặc điểm. Nếu các thử nghiệm xác thực xác nhận kết quả của nghiên cứu này trên các cây lớn hơn, việc sàng lọc như đã mô tả ở đây có thể được sử dụng để phát triển các giống acacia có khả năng chịu đựng bệnh tốt hơn.
