Kết tủa dựa trên titan được kỳ vọng sẽ đạt được cả hai mục tiêu là tinh lọc nước hiệu quả và tái chế bùn. Nghiên cứu này là nỗ lực đầu tiên sử dụng titan tetracloride (TiCl4) để loại bỏ chất ô nhiễm composite bạc nanoparticle (AgNP)-axit humic trong một quy trình kết tủa-siêu lọc (C-UF), trong đó đặc trưng hóa floc và sự bít màng dưới các điều kiện liều lượng coagulant khác nhau, pH dung dịch ban đầu và nồng độ AgNP là nội dung chính. Kết quả cho thấy TiCl4 đạt được hiệu suất loại bỏ AgNP cao dưới dạng bạc nanoparticle thông qua hấp thụ và kết tủa quét, đồng thời đạt được thêm 68,2 % loại bỏ carbon hữu cơ hòa tan cao hơn so với Al2(SO4)3. TiCl4 tạo ra floc lớn hơn và mạnh hơn nhưng với khả năng phục hồi yếu hơn và độ đặc hơn so với Al2(SO4)3. Tính chất floc độc lập với nồng độ AgNP ngoại trừ kích thước phân đoạn fratal của floc, điều này có mối tương quan tiêu cực với nồng độ AgNP. TiCl4 trước kết tủa gây ra sự bít màng ít hơn trong phạm vi pH rộng hơn so với Al2(SO4)3 trong quá trình C-UF. Việc kết hợp AgNPs trong quá trình tiền xử lý TiCl4 đã hỗ trợ làm giảm sự bít màng, tuy nhiên không bị ảnh hưởng đáng kể bởi nồng độ AgNP trong trường hợp Al2(SO4)3.
