Để giải quyết vấn đề điều khiển của một lớp hệ thống phi tuyến MIMO không chắc chắn chịu ràng buộc đầu vào điều khiển, ba loại luật điều khiển chế độ trượt biến thiên theo thời gian được đề xuất. Các mặt trượt đi qua giá trị ban đầu của hệ thống tại thời điểm ban đầu và được dịch/chuyển đổi về các mặt trượt đã xác định trước. Các tham số của bộ điều khiển được tối ưu hóa bằng thuật toán di truyền (GA). Phương pháp Lyapunov được áp dụng để chứng minh tính ổn định và độ robust đối với những bất định về tham số và nhiễu từ bên ngoài. Thông qua luật điều khiển chế độ trượt biến thiên theo thời gian, pha tiếp cận trong điều khiển chế độ trượt thông thường bị loại bỏ, và hệ thống được đảm bảo có độ robust ngay từ đầu. Lấy điều khiển của một bộ manipulator hai liên kết và theo dõi hướng của tàu vũ trụ cứng làm hai ví dụ, chúng tôi minh họa các đặc điểm của điều khiển chế độ trượt biến thiên theo thời gian. Kết quả mô phỏng cho thấy tính hợp lệ của luật điều khiển đối với một lớp hệ thống MIMO không chắc chắn. Độ robust tốt hơn đối với những bất định và nhiễu từ bên ngoài có thể đạt được thông qua điều khiển chế độ trượt biến thiên mà không vi phạm ràng buộc về đầu vào điều khiển.
