Mục đích của bài báo này là xác định vai trò của sự hợp tác học thuật trong tác động của nghiên cứu tại khu vực Mỹ Latinh và Caribe đối với quản lý như một lĩnh vực nghiên cứu học thuật. Kết quả cho thấy tác động của các bài báo Mỹ Latinh về quản lý, được xuất bản từ 1990 đến 2010 trong các tạp chí JCR, có mối tương quan tích cực với sự hợp tác (r_s = .133, p = .001). Những bài báo có sự hợp tác có tác động trung bình cao hơn 1,22 lần so với những bài được viết bởi một tác giả duy nhất. Mức độ hợp tác cũng có mối tương quan tích cực với tác động (r_s = .337, p = .001). Các bài báo được xuất bản thông qua sự hợp tác quốc tế có tác động cao hơn 1,59 lần so với các bài được xuất bản thông qua sự hợp tác trong nước.
