Than hoạt tính từ vỏ dừa (ACCS) đã được tổng hợp và sử dụng để loại bỏ các ion kim loại (mangan, sắt, niken và đồng) từ các dung dịch nước. Hai mô hình hấp phụ khác nhau đã được sử dụng để phân tích dữ liệu. Khả năng hấp phụ đã được xác định: các ion đồng cho thấy khả năng hấp phụ lớn nhất trên than hoạt tính có được từ vỏ dừa do kích thước của chúng và điều kiện pH. Khả năng hấp phụ thay đổi theo từng mức pH. Các đồng biến thiên hấp phụ từ dung dịch nước của các kim loại nặng trên ACCS đã được xác định và được tìm thấy phù hợp với mô hình hấp phụ Langmuir. Số lượng chất hấp phụ và enthalpy nhúng đã được nghiên cứu. Các kết quả đã được so sánh với các chất hấp phụ khác được sử dụng trong một nghiên cứu trước đó.
