Tóm tắtProtein gắn Y-box (YB-1) là một trong những protein gắn axit nucleic được bảo tồn tiến hóa nhất hiện nay. YB-1 là một thành viên của siêu họ protein vùng sốc lạnh (CSD). Protein này thực hiện nhiều chức năng tế bào đa dạng, bao gồm điều hòa phiên mã, điều hòa dịch mã, sửa chữa DNA, kháng thuốc và phản ứng stress với các tín hiệu ngoại bào. Kết quả là, sự biểu hiện của YB-1 có mối liên hệ chặt chẽ với sự tăng sinh của tế bào.
