The pion decay constant as a scale for hadron dynamics

We speculate on the implications of the ground-state meson decay constantf
π≅93 MeV setting the scale for hadron dynamics. On this basis we conjecture that the asymptotic cross-sections obey σπN
/σ
K
N
=f
K
/f
π in agreement with experiment. We also find σππ=π/12f
π
2
≃14 so that the pion decay constant scales the asymptotic cross-section.
