The main historical stages of electric apparatus development

The main historical stages of electric apparatus development are represented. The greatest attention is paid to the domestic electric apparatus (EA). The evolution of two types of the EA, including electromechanical and static EAs since the end of 19th century, is described. Ways to perfect the EA principal of operation and functional possibilities are also described. Examples of modern commutative devices are represented. For the first time static power controllers based on fully controlled semiconductor power keys are examined in detail.
