Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là xem xét sự phổ biến, các yếu tố nguy cơ và hậu quả của bạo lực gia đình (DV) ở Ả Rập Xê Út. Một tổng quan hệ thống theo hướng dẫn PRISMA được thực hiện trên các bài báo tập trung vào nghiên cứu liên quan đến dịch tễ học của bạo lực gia đình ở Ả Rập Xê Út trong khoảng thời gian từ 2009 đến 2017 đã được xác định thông qua các cơ sở dữ liệu điện tử (PubMed và Embase) và bổ sung bằng việc tham chiếu chéo và tìm kiếm các tạp chí địa phương. Mười một nghiên cứu đã được thực hiện tại sáu thành phố (Riyadh, Jeddah, Madina, Taif, Arar và Al-Ahsa). Một số bảng câu hỏi sàng lọc đã được sử dụng; bốn nghiên cứu đã sử dụng bảng câu hỏi nghiên cứu đa quốc gia của WHO và phát hiện rằng tỷ lệ bạo lực gia đình suốt đời dao động từ 39,3 đến 44,5%. Các yếu tố nguy cơ thường xuyên được báo cáo cho bạo lực gia đình là trình độ học vấn của cả nạn nhân và người phối ngẫu, cùng với nghiện rượu hoặc ma túy của người phối ngẫu. Một trong ba phụ nữ ở Ả Rập Xê Út là nạn nhân của bạo lực gia đình. Các chiến lược nhằm giảm thiểu các yếu tố nguy cơ, ngăn ngừa bạo lực gia đình, chăm sóc cho các nạn nhân và giảm thiểu tác động của bạo lực gia đình cần được các cơ quan chăm sóc sức khỏe ở Ả Rập Xê Út thực hiện.
