The Structural–Formational Zoning of the Laptev Sea Shelf (Eastern Arctic)
Tóm tắt
In our research, the structural-formational zoning of the Laptev Sea shelf (Eastern Arctic) was performed, and description of the Taymyr (northwestern part of the Laptev Sea), Laptev (central part of the Laptev Sea), Gakkel (northern part of the Laptev Sea), Omoloy (eastern part of the Laptev Sea) and transitional Khatanga (southwestern part of the Laptev Sea) structural-formational zones, and the seismostratigraphic characteristics of the Laptev Sea shelf were given as well. Based on the data obtained, regional unconformities and interruptions in sedimentation were revealed. The main geological stages of evolution of the study region were identified as follows: platform (Early–Middle Paleozoic), marginal-continental (Late Paleozoic), rift (Late Permian–Early Triassic), syneclise (Jurassic–Neocomian), rift (Late Cretaceous–Paleogene–Early Miocene), post-rift (Miocene–Quaternary). During these stages, structural-formation and promising oil and gas complexes were being formed. As a result of the analysis, the proposed promising oil and gas complexes were identified in the sections of the Cis-Taymyr and Omoloic zones‒Paleozoic and Mesozoic (I); the Khatanga transition zone‒Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Paleocene–Eocene, Oligocene and Miocene (II), the Laptev zone‒Mesozoic, Paleocene–Eocene, Oligocene and Miocene (III), the Gakkel zone‒Paleocene–Eocene, Oligocene and Miocene (IV). The structural and formation zoning of the Laptev Sea shelf was carried out to clarify and plan geological exploration.
