Tóm tắt
Khả năng mà các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ (SMEs) kết hợp và áp dụng dự đoán và không dự đoán trong quá trình ra quyết định trong quá trình quốc tế hóa vẫn là một kịch bản chưa được thảo luận nhiều. Những nghiên cứu hiếm hoi xem xét vấn đề này không vượt ra ngoài tác động trong nước khi bối cảnh hóa các quyết định dẫn dắt sự mở rộng ra nước ngoài của SMEs. Nghiên cứu này liên kết các chiến lược ra quyết định của SMEs với hiệu suất và gợi ý rằng mối quan hệ như vậy bị điều tiết bởi sự phát triển thể chế của thị trường tiếp nhận và các khoảng trống thể chế tương ứng. Phân tích kết hợp dữ liệu khảo sát sơ cấp từ 851 SMEs tại Brazil, Trung Quốc, Italy, Ba Lan và Thụy Điển với dữ liệu thứ cấp được thu thập từ Ngân hàng Thế giới. Ngoài việc hỗ trợ cả hiệu ứng hiệu suất độc lập và cộng sinh của các chiến lược dự đoán và không dự đoán, kết quả chỉ ra rằng các thể chế thị trường nước ngoài ảnh hưởng đến các hiệu ứng này khác nhau và gợi ý về các hiệu ứng kích thước công ty đáng được xem xét. Những đóng góp bao gồm việc mở rộng cuộc tranh luận về mối quan hệ giữa dự đoán và không dự đoán, vượt ra ngoài tư duy nhị nguyên mà các nghiên cứu hiện tại đang phổ biến, và bối cảnh hóa các chiến lược ra quyết định của SMEs theo các động lực thể chế mà SMEs gặp phải ở nước ngoài.
