Tóm tắt
Viêm khớp tự phát ở trẻ em (JIA) là một hội chứng viêm chưa được hiểu rõ, có tính dị biệt, không thể chữa khỏi. Kết quả lâu dài còn chưa xác định, và tình trạng đau đớn này có thể dẫn đến tàn tật suốt đời. JIA liên quan đến gánh nặng tài chính và nhân văn đáng kể cho những người bị ảnh hưởng cũng như hệ thống chăm sóc sức khỏe. Chẩn đoán sớm và điều trị hiệu quả được chỉ định để tối ưu hóa kết quả. Điều trị hiện đại nhằm đạt được tình trạng thuyên giảm và bảo tồn chức năng khớp bằng cách sử dụng thuốc điều chỉnh bệnh (DMARDs) sớm. DMARDs có thể được phân loại là thông thường/truyền thống hoặc sinh học. Các loại thuốc sinh học có thể hiệu quả hơn nhưng có chi phí cao gấp khoảng mười lần so với DMARDs truyền thống. Các nhà ra quyết định trong lĩnh vực chăm sóc sức khỏe ngày càng so sánh chi phí và hậu quả của các chiến lược điều trị thay thế để hướng dẫn các quyết định phân bổ nguồn lực. Đến nay, có rất ít đánh giá kinh tế để hướng dẫn tối ưu hóa thuốc trong JIA. Bài tổng quan hệ thống này nêu bật sự thiếu hụt bằng chứng hiện có liên quan đến gánh nặng nhân văn và kinh tế của JIA trong thời đại của thuốc sinh học.
