Giao tiếp giữa bác sĩ (PC) là yếu tố trung tâm ảnh hưởng đến mối quan hệ giữa bác sĩ và bệnh nhân (PPR), và sự thấu cảm của bác sĩ (PE) đóng vai trò trung tâm với PC. Việc đánh giá toàn diện và khách quan các cơ chế cơ bản của PPR từ góc độ hai chiều của bác sĩ và bệnh nhân là rất quan trọng cho sự phát triển xã hội. Tuy nhiên, mối quan hệ giữa ba biến này dưới góc độ hai chiều vẫn chưa rõ ràng. Nghiên cứu này nhằm kiểm tra hiệu quả của PC trong việc dự đoán PPR từ góc độ hai chiều của bác sĩ và bệnh nhân, cũng như các cơ chế cơ bản ảnh hưởng đến PPR. Chúng tôi đã chọn 2665 bác sĩ và 2983 bệnh nhân tại Trung Quốc và xem xét ảnh hưởng của sự thấu cảm của bác sĩ đối với PPR và vai trò trung gian của PC giữa PE và PPR bằng cách sử dụng mô hình phương trình cấu trúc. Kết quả từ tự đánh giá của bác sĩ cho thấy rằng mối liên hệ giữa PC và PPR không đáng kể, trong khi đó, kết quả từ đánh giá của bệnh nhân cho thấy rằng giao tiếp của bác sĩ không chỉ có hiệu quả trong việc dự đoán mối quan hệ bác sĩ–bệnh nhân mà còn trung gian cho mối quan hệ giữa sự thấu cảm của bác sĩ và PPR; phân tích sâu hơn về các cơ chế cơ bản ảnh hưởng đến PPR cho thấy kết quả từ tự đánh giá của bác sĩ cũng cho thấy rằng PC trung gian cho mối quan hệ giữa việc đặt mình vào vị trí của người khác và PPR; tuy nhiên, các đánh giá từ bệnh nhân lại cho thấy rằng PC trung gian cho mối quan hệ giữa việc đặt mình vào vị trí của người khác và PPR, cũng như giữa sự quan tâm thấu cảm và PPR.
