Khi sự quan tâm và nhấn mạnh vào việc can thiệp sớm cho trẻ em mắc rối loạn phổ tự kỷ (ASD) ngày càng gia tăng, nhu cầu về các kỹ thuật đánh giá sớm đáng tin cậy và hợp lệ đã tăng lên đáng kể. Thang Đo Lường Trẻ Sơ Sinh và Trẻ Nhũ Nhi Có Đặc Điểm Tự Kỷ—Phần 1 (BISCUIT-Part 1) được thiết kế để đánh giá các đặc trưng chẩn đoán cốt lõi của trẻ sơ sinh và trẻ nhỏ từ 17 đến 37 tháng tuổi. Mặc dù các nghiên cứu về các thuộc tính tâm lý học của thang đo này đã cho thấy triển vọng, quy trình cho điểm của thang đo không xem xét đến độ tuổi của trẻ. Với số lượng phát triển đáng kể diễn ra trong 3 năm đầu đời, bài báo hiện tại đã xem xét tính hữu ích của các quy trình cho điểm dựa trên độ tuổi cho BISCUIT-Part 1.
