Vào ngày 13 tháng 1 năm 2011, lũ lụt nghiêm trọng đã xảy ra trên hầu hết lưu vực sông Brisbane, đặc biệt nghiêm trọng tại Toowoomba và lưu vực suối Lockyer (nơi có 23 người chết đuối), lưu vực sông Bremer và tại Brisbane, thủ phủ bang Queensland.
