Polime khắc phân tử trên bề mặt (SMIPs) đã được tổng hợp để xác định chọn lọc (–)-epigallocatechin gallate trong môi trường nước. SMIPs được chế tạo bằng phương pháp đồng polymer hóa bám trên bề mặt trên gel silica chức năng được thay đổi bằng β-cyclodextrin và nhóm vinyl. Hình thái và thành phần của SMIPs đã được nghiên cứu thông qua kính hiển vi điện tử quét, phổ hồng ngoại chuyển Fourier và phân tích nhiệt trọng lượng. Ngoài ra, khả năng liên kết phân tử, các đặc tính nhận diện và tính chọn lọc của SMIPs đã được đánh giá. Các polime khắc được phát hiện có khả năng nhận diện và liên kết đặc hiệu cao đối với (–)-epigallocatechin gallate trong môi trường nước, điều này là kết quả của các tính chất kị nước của β-cyclodextrin và các tương tác liên kết hydro của axit methacrylic. SMIPs đã được ứng dụng thành công như các vật liệu hấp phụ chiết xuất pha rắn trước khi xác định HPLC của (–)-epigallocatechin gallate trong kem đánh răng. Phân tích HPLC có dải động học tuyến tính từ 0.5 đến 50.0 μg·mL−1 với hệ số tương quan 0.9998 và tỷ lệ phục hồi từ 89.4% đến 97.0% với độ lệch chuẩn tương đối ít hơn 4.8%. Giới hạn phát hiện và giới hạn định lượng lần lượt là 0.17 và 0.33 μg·mL−1. Phương pháp này cung cấp một cách tiếp cận đầy hứa hẹn cho việc chuẩn bị các vật liệu chọn lọc để tinh chế và xác định các mẫu phức tạp.
