Các tác động của việc cung cấp insulin dưới da và trong phúc mạc bằng thiết bị bơm insulin vòng khép kín đối với tình trạng tăng đường huyết sau ăn và tốc độ xuất hiện và biến mất của glucose đã được so sánh ở những chú chó bị tiểu đường alloxan. Không có sự khác biệt nào trong các giá trị cơ bản hoặc sau ăn, cũng như các mẫu phản ứng giữa hai phương thức cung cấp insulin. Bên cạnh đó, lượng insulin được bơm và nồng độ insulin trong huyết tương đạt được cũng không khác nhau giữa hai đường tiêm insulin.
