Sự bùng phát của HIV/AIDS chưa đến mức cao ở Bangladesh nhưng đang gia tăng từ từ, gây ra những lo ngại. Quá trình của bài đánh giá này được thực hiện nhằm khám phá mối đe dọa của HIV/AIDS để nâng cao nhận thức về phòng ngừa và lây truyền HIV, thái độ đối với việc phòng ngừa HIV và các hành vi liên quan đến HIV/AIDS. Như một chiến lược can thiệp, việc cung cấp đào tạo và nâng cao nhận thức có thể đảm bảo rằng người dân của một xã hội hoặc quốc gia trở thành nguồn thông tin chính xác và những người được giáo dục tốt mà thế hệ trẻ có thể chia sẻ những vấn đề nhạy cảm và phức tạp về tình dục. Các bài viết đã được phản biện đã được xác định để sử dụng một cách hệ thống để thu thập cơ sở dữ liệu. Một chiến lược đã được thiết kế để xác định các bài viết để công bố trên các tạp chí có thứ hạng cao. Tất cả kết quả tìm kiếm từ các cơ sở dữ liệu nổi bật như Elsevier, Scopus, Springer, PubMed và Cochrane đã được thu thập, đồng thời tất cả các bản sao có thể đã bị loại bỏ. Bài báo này nhấn mạnh để các nhà hoạch định chính sách chính phủ, các tổ chức phi chính phủ (NGOs) và các tổ chức xã hội khác, đồng thời khuyến khích họ chú ý đặc biệt đến việc giảm thiểu sự phân biệt giới tính, lạm dụng tình dục và bạo lực trước khi thực hiện bất kỳ chính sách nào để phòng ngừa HIV/AIDS ở Bangladesh và các quốc gia đang phát triển. Nghiên cứu này phân tích cách mà các cô gái và phụ nữ ở Bangladesh cũng như các quốc gia đang phát triển khác bị phân biệt và trở thành nạn nhân của HIV/AIDS do sự phân biệt giới tính, thiếu kiến thức và nhận thức đúng đắn cũng như các vấn đề liên quan khác.
