State of the Art MR Imaging Techniques for the Foot and Ankle
Tóm tắt
MRI plays an important role in imaging sports injuries of the foot and ankle. Optimal examinations can be more reliably obtained from closed 3-T MRI units because of the improved spatial resolution that is afforded by the higher signal to noise ratio compared to lower field MRI units. Imaging should be restricted to a specific anatomic sub-region (ankle and hindfoot, Achilles tendon, midfoot, central forefoot or great toe) to allow optimisation of pulse sequence parameters and scan planes. Optional sequences include the use of 3D isotropic imaging, 3D volume interpolated gradient echo technique, 3D diffusion-weighted balanced gradient echo steady-state free precession and biochemical imaging such as T2 mapping.
