Nồng độ và phân bố không gian-thời gian của các hợp chất chống cháy brom hóa (BFRs), bao gồm hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) và tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) đã được phân tích trong động vật hai mảnh vỏ tại các khu vực ven biển phía nam tỉnh Phúc Kiến. Nồng độ HBCD và TBBPA dao động từ ND (không phát hiện) đến 5.540 ng·g−1 (ww) (trung vị 0.111 ng·g−1) và ND đến 0.962 ng·g−1 (ww) (trung vị ND), tương ứng. Ngoài ra, α-HBCD được tìm thấy là đồng phân diastereoisomer chiếm ưu thế trong tất cả các mẫu nghiên cứu, tiếp theo là β-HBCD và γ-HBCD. Phân bố không gian của BFRs cho thấy phân bố cao điểm, với hàm lượng cao hơn ở môi trường biển của Hạ Môn và Chuanshan, ở Nam Phúc Kiến, và thấp hơn về phía môi trường biển của Trường Sở và Phúc Điền. Mức độ ô nhiễm BFRs có liên quan đến vị trí địa lý của vịnh và sự gần gũi với các ngành công nghiệp địa phương. Hơn nữa, kết quả của nghiên cứu cho thấy một mô hình biến đổi theo mùa: mùa hè > mùa thu > mùa xuân > mùa đông. Nghiên cứu này cung cấp thông tin cơ bản về tình trạng ô nhiễm của các BFR này trong môi trường biển của Nam Phúc Kiến.
