Chèn ép thần kinh trên vai là một bệnh lý không phổ biến; chẩn đoán chính xác và sớm là điều cần thiết để tránh thoái hóa không hồi phục của các cơ trên gai và dưới gai. Nhờ sự cải tiến về kỹ thuật và vật liệu trong những năm gần đây, hiện nay kỹ thuật nội soi được sử dụng rộng rãi để giải phóng thần kinh trên vai. Kỹ thuật này liên quan đến tỷ lệ bệnh tật và biến chứng thấp hơn so với kỹ thuật mổ mở, và trong trường hợp có nang ganglion, nó hữu ích để sửa chữa tổn thương SLAP tại vị trí gốc của nó.
