Tóm tắt Berberis aristata là một phần quan trọng trong hệ thống chữa bệnh truyền thống từ hơn 2500 năm. Chiết xuất nước từ vỏ rễ Berberis aristata cho thấy hoạt tính rộng rãi chống lại 13 tác nhân gây bệnh thử nghiệm, dao động từ 12 đến 25 mm. Trong tối ưu hóa cổ điển, nồng độ 15% được chuẩn bị ở 40 °C trong 40 phút là tối ưu và ổn định nhiệt. Tối ưu hóa thống kê đã tăng cường hoạt tính từ 1.13 đến 1.30 lần. Ethyl acetate là dung môi hữu cơ tốt nhất để loại bỏ hợp chất tiềm năng chịu trách nhiệm cho hoạt động kháng khuẩn. Diterpenes là thành phần phytoconstituent phong phú nhất (15,3%) và cho thấy hoạt tính kháng khuẩn rộng rãi dao động từ 16,66 đến 42,66 mm. Chiết xuất ethyl acetate hiển thị nồng độ ức chế tối thiểu thấp nhất (0,05–1 mg/mL), theo sau là diterpenes (0,05–5 mg/mL) và flavonoids (0,05–10 mg/mL).
