Road vehicles are becoming increasingly “smarter” with advanced assistance systems. Sensors enable cars to see danger before it happens, so that the driver can anticipate the event and take action. But what is it that the sensors should be observing, how must the observations be translated into actions, and what traffic scenarios should be used to test the system? The scenario-based simulation environment PreScan by TNO helps developers of assistance systems to find answers to all these questions.
