Việc sử dụng đất xác định chất lượng nước trong các môi trường ven bờ đến một mức độ nhất định và ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến sức khỏe con người thông qua nguồn nước uống. Mục tiêu chính của bài báo này là điều tra ảnh hưởng của việc sử dụng đất, cả trong các đơn vị phản ứng thủy văn (HRUs) và các khu vực đệm rộng 200m, đến chất lượng nước bề mặt. Các biến đổi và mối quan hệ giữa các tính chất lý hóa của nước và việc sử dụng đất đã được đánh giá nhằm cải thiện quản lý môi trường nước. Nitơ là chất dinh dưỡng chính và có mối tương quan đáng kể với các tham số chất lượng nước khác. Trong các HRUs và vùng đệm, cảnh quan nổi bật nhất lần lượt là đồng cỏ và đất nông nghiệp. Carbon hữu cơ tổng (TOC) và oxy hòa tan (DO) có mối tương quan âm với các yếu tố sử dụng đất; nitơ nitrate, nitơ tổng, photpho tổng, độ dẫn điện và nhiệt độ, ngược lại, có mối tương quan dương với chúng. Đất công nghiệp và khu dân cư là loại sử dụng đất quan trọng cho môi trường thủy sinh tại sông Đan, cho thấy rằng ô nhiễm điểm cần được chú ý nhiều hơn.
