Bệnh viêm ruột (IBD), bao gồm bệnh Crohn, viêm đại tràng loét và bệnh viêm ruột không phân loại, là một rối loạn viêm mãn tính chủ yếu ảnh hưởng đến đường tiêu hóa (GI) và có xu hướng gia tăng tỷ lệ mắc ở cả trẻ em và người lớn. Các triệu chứng được gây ra bởi phản ứng viêm không thích hợp do sự tương tác giữa môi trường, vi khuẩn đường ruột và hệ miễn dịch của cơ thể ở một cá thể nhạy cảm về di truyền.
