Tóm tắt

Regional rainfall intensity–duration–frequency (IDF) curves provide information on the likelihood of heavy rainfall events of various amounts and durations. Hourly rainfall data at Ananthapur, Arogyavaram and Kurnool located in the drought-prone area of Rayalaseema region, Kakinada, Machilipatnam and Nellore located in Coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, and Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Ramagundam raingauge stations of Telangana State have been used in the present study for regional rainfall frequency analysis to develop IDF relationships for different durations and time periods. Higher rainfall intensities have been observed in the regions in the order Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal regions during 1979–2008 barring a few exceptions. The intensities also increased significantly with the time period in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions.
