Câu cá giải trí trên biển (MRF) là một hoạt động có mức độ tham gia cao với giá trị kinh tế lớn và lợi ích xã hội toàn cầu, và nó có tác động đến một số nguồn cá. Mặc dù việc báo cáo sản lượng câu cá MRF là yêu cầu theo luật pháp của Liên minh châu Âu, nhưng ước tính chỉ có sẵn cho một số nước.
