Bài báo này giới thiệu những tiến bộ trong nghiên cứu loess ở Trung Quốc trong 15 năm qua, bao gồm chủ yếu phân bố và ý nghĩa môi trường cổ của loess Trung Quốc, sự phát triển mới về niên đại hình thành loess, các loại hóa thạch đỏ-nâu và biến đổi môi trường, chuỗi loess-hóa thạch và chu kỳ khí hậu, sự thay đổi sức mạnh gió mùa trong các giai đoạn gian băng cuối cùng và gian băng trước đó ở Cao nguyên Loess, các sự kiện khí hậu và các khu vực nguồn gốc của loess và vật liệu.
