Bài báo này trình bày sự tổng hợp và đặc trưng của một loạt copolymer dựa trên polystyren (PS), mang các đơn vị 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinone (UPy) gắn với chuỗi polymer. Các copolymer dựa trên PS được tổng hợp hiệu quả thông qua quá trình polymer hóa gốc tự do trung gian RAFT trên styren và 4-vinylbenzylamine được bảo vệ, và sau đó được sửa đổi bằng các isocyanate có nguồn gốc từ UPy thích hợp để tạo ra các polymer mục tiêu. Phân tích các mẫu trong dung dịch cho thấy các chuỗi polymer tụ họp lại, tạo ra các hạt nano hữu cơ có kích thước phân tách và đồng nhất, việc hình ảnh hóa trực tiếp khi được lắng đọng trên bề mặt có thể được thực hiện bằng cách sử dụng AFM.
