Đã được chứng minh rằng nấm dược liệu Phellinus linteus (PL), chủ yếu chứa polysaccharides, có tính chất chống khối u và điều chỉnh miễn dịch cả trong ống nghiệm và trong cơ thể sống. Tuy nhiên, cơ chế mà PL ức chế sự phát triển và hành vi xâm lấn của các tế bào HepG2 vẫn chưa được hiểu rõ. Ở đây chúng tôi đã chứng minh rằng PL ức chế sự sinh sản và hình thành thuộc địa của tế bào HepG2 và sự ức chế tăng trưởng của các tế bào HepG2 được trung gian bởi sự ngưng tụ của chu kỳ tế bào ở pha S. PL cũng ức chế rõ rệt sự bám dính và xâm lấn tế bào ung thư vào ma trận ngoại bào. Thêm vào đó, chúng tôi đã chứng minh rằng apoptosis do PL gây ra liên quan đến sự giảm mức độ Bcl-2 và sự gia tăng phóng thích cytochrome c.
