Kiểm soát ô nhiễm tại châu Phi: sự tương tác giữa hội nhập tài chính và công nghiệp hóa

Chúng tôi sử dụng phương pháp ước lượng nhóm trung bình tập hợp và nguyên lý nguyên nhân trong bảng để điều tra tác động của hội nhập tài chính và phát triển công nghiệp đối với ô nhiễm tại 36 quốc gia châu Phi trong khoảng thời gian từ năm 1990 đến 2019. Kết quả cho thấy có nguyên nhân đơn chiều từ phát triển công nghiệp đến hội nhập tài chính và ô nhiễm ở châu Phi. Ngoài ra, hồi quy bảng cho thấy hội nhập tài chính không có ảnh hưởng đáng kể đến sự giảm ô nhiễm trong ngắn hạn, nhưng lại làm trầm trọng thêm ô nhiễm trong dài hạn trên lục địa này. Hơn nữa, kết quả cũng chỉ ra rằng phát triển công nghiệp không làm gia tăng ô nhiễm một cách đáng kể trong cả hai giai đoạn, trong khi sự tương tác giữa hội nhập tài chính và phát triển công nghiệp có tác động tiêu cực đến ô nhiễm trong cả ngắn hạn và dài hạn ở châu Phi. Nghiên cứu khuyến nghị rằng các nhà lãnh đạo châu Phi nên khai thác lợi ích của hội nhập tài chính để thúc đẩy phát triển công nghiệp châu Phi và đảm bảo thực hiện đầy đủ các chính sách bền vững về môi trường nhằm kiểm soát lượng ô nhiễm.
