Nghiên cứu này tìm hiểu đóng góp quan trọng của Sáng kiến "Vành đai và Con đường" (BRI) trong việc giảm mật độ carbon và tạo điều kiện cho tiến trình hướng tới sự trung tính carbon, giải quyết vấn đề toàn cầu cấp bách về biến đổi khí hậu. Với tư cách là quốc gia phát thải carbon hàng đầu thế giới, Trung Quốc đang phải đối mặt với áp lực lớn để giảm thiểu lượng phát thải. Được khởi xướng vào năm 2013, BRI nhấn mạnh sự phát triển kinh tế dọc theo tuyến đường của nó trong khi bảo vệ môi trường tại các khu vực liên quan.
