Giết Cha và Giết Cha Kế ở Ghana: Nạn Nhân, Thủ Phạm và Đặc Điểm Tội Phạm

Có rất ít nghiên cứu thực nghiệm về tội giết cha ở Châu Phi và nhiều xã hội không phương Tây. Để giúp lấp đầy khoảng trống học thuật này và đóng góp vào tài liệu về tội giết cha, bài báo hiện tại trình bày kết quả phân tích 18 trường hợp giết cha và giết cha kế xảy ra ở Ghana trong giai đoạn 1990–2016. Xét về tính chất khám phá của nghiên cứu, không có giả thuyết nào được xây dựng hay kiểm tra. Các phát hiện cho thấy tội giết cha là một tội phạm hiếm gặp, rằng con trai có xác suất cao hơn con gái trong việc giết hại cha, và rằng con cái trưởng thành có khả năng cao hơn con cái vị thành niên và trước dậy thì trong việc thực hiện tội giết cha. Kết quả cũng cho thấy một số lượng đáng kể các vụ giết cha bị kích thích bởi bệnh tâm thần của thủ phạm. Tuy nhiên, hoàn cảnh chính là xung đột giữa con trai và cha về nhiều vấn đề khác nhau. Ba trong số 18 vụ giết cha bị ảnh hưởng bởi niềm tin của thủ phạm rằng cha của họ là những phù thủy độc ác đã phù phép họ. Ngoài ra, các hành vi giết cha thường mang tính chất tự phát hơn là có kế hoạch. Một khuyến nghị được đưa ra cho các nghiên cứu tiếp theo về tội giết cha ở Ghana và các xã hội không phương Tây khác nhằm làm sáng tỏ một chủ đề thực nghiệm bị lãng quên nhưng rất quan trọng.
