Tóm tắt Đặt vấn đề Đánh giá kết quả của phẫu thuật vitrectomy vùng pars plana (PPV) và sử dụng silicone oil (SO) làm băng ép có hoặc không có vòng xơ quanh để sửa chữa bong võng mạc do vết rách (RRD) ở trẻ em bị buphthalmos. Bệnh nhân và phương pháp Nghiên cứu hồi cứu, so sánh và không ngẫu nhiên, bao gồm các bệnh nhân liên tiếp đã trải qua PPV có hoặc không có vòng xơ quanh và sử dụng băng ép SO cho RRD liên quan đến buphthalmos. Kết quả Nghiên cứu bao gồm 19 mắt của 19 trẻ em. Tuổi trung bình là 8 tuổi, dao động từ 3 đến 16 tuổi. Thời gian theo dõi trung bình là 28 tháng, dao động từ 19 đến 63 tháng. Việc bảo tồn nhãn cầu đã đạt được ở 15 trên 19 mắt (79%). Xuất hiện phthisis bulbi trong bốn trường hợp (22%). Tám bệnh nhân (42%) đã đạt được thị lực đi lại. Hầu hết các mắt ban đầu đạt được thành công về mặt giải phẫu. Kết luận Dù kết quả thị lực và giải phẫu của việc sửa chữa RRD ở các mắt bị buphthalmos không tốt, việc bảo tồn nhãn cầu có thể là lý do hợp lý cho việc phẫu thuật trong những trường hợp như vậy. Việc bảo tồn nhãn cầu có thể tránh được những hậu quả tâm lý và xã hội của phthisis bulbi ở trẻ em không được phẫu thuật.
