Dinh dưỡng qua đường tĩnh mạch trong bệnh Crohn

Một nghiên cứu hồi cứu về 50 bệnh nhân liên tiếp được nhập viện vì bệnh Crohn đã được thực hiện nhằm đánh giá vai trò của dinh dưỡng qua đường tĩnh mạch trong quản lý bệnh này. Sau điều trị, trọng lượng trung bình, mức hemoglobin và mức albumin huyết tương đều giống nhau ở ba nhóm điều trị—dinh dưỡng qua đường tĩnh mạch (12), chế độ ăn ít dư (9), và chế độ ăn bình thường (29). Trong số 13 đợt dinh dưỡng qua đường tĩnh mạch được sử dụng ở 12 bệnh nhân, 10 đợt kéo dài dưới 14 ngày (trung bình bốn ngày). Hầu hết bệnh nhân gặp các vấn đề dinh dưỡng liên quan đến bệnh Crohn có thể được điều trị thành công bằng một hình thức dinh dưỡng qua đường tiêu hóa nào đó. Dinh dưỡng qua đường tĩnh mạch, nếu cần thiết, thường chỉ cần thiết trong thời gian dưới hai tuần, để hỗ trợ bệnh nhân trong giai đoạn quan trọng của bệnh.
