Nghiên cứu cho thấy thanh thiếu niên người Mỹ gốc Phi, người châu Á/thái Bình Dương và người Latino có tỷ lệ nhu cầu sức khỏe tâm thần chưa được đáp ứng cao hơn và tỷ lệ sử dụng dịch vụ sức khỏe tâm thần thấp hơn so với thanh thiếu niên da trắng không gốc Tây Ban Nha, cho thấy có thể tồn tại những rào cản trong việc tìm kiếm sự trợ giúp và đường đi đến dịch vụ cho thanh thiếu niên thuộc nhóm thiểu số.
