Optimal Selection of Material: An Eclectic Decision
Tóm tắt
Material selection is a vital issue in engineering design. Selection of appropriate material for a particular product is a very difficult task for decision makers. There is an immense range of materials with dissimilar properties accessible to the designers to assure diverse design requirements. Huge number of available materials with intricate relationships between various selection attributes make it difficult and time consuming in material selection. In this work, a case study for material selection has been taken which finds the usable material from a set of alternatives material on the basis of different attributes/criteria using multi-objective optimization on the basis of simple ratio analysis method. The Spearman’s Rank co-relation co-efficient and the result of the co-efficient of variation shows that EXPROM-2 and OCRA are better than other multi-criteria decision making methods applied in this research.
