Điều trị phẫu thuật và tiên lượng syringomyelia

Hai mươi hai bệnh nhân mắc syringomyelia đã được điều trị phẫu thuật. Các thủ tục dẫn lưu khác nhau đã được thực hiện. Thường xuyên nhất là dẫn lưu syringo-subarachnoid (bảy ca) và dẫn lưu syringopleural (tám ca). Các phát hiện trong phẫu thuật và các biến chứng đã được thảo luận. Sự cải thiện sau phẫu thuật được quan sát thấy ở năm bệnh nhân, mười hai bệnh nhân ổn định không thay đổi, bốn bệnh nhân cho thấy sự suy giảm thêm và một bệnh nhân đã tử vong. Việc điều trị phẫu thuật nên được thực hiện trước khi có khiếm khuyết thần kinh rõ rệt.
