Chúng tôi trình bày một nghiên cứu hồi cứu về dysraphism tủy sống không rõ ở 47 trẻ em từ 0 đến 14 tuổi, tất cả đều được nghiên cứu bằng X-quang thông thường, 60% bằng CT và myelo-CT, và 40% bằng MRI. Chúng tôi xem xét phân loại và xếp hạng các dị dạng này, các đặc điểm lâm sàng và thần kinh hình ảnh, cũng như chỉ định phẫu thuật. Dựa trên các phát hiện của chúng tôi và dữ liệu đã xuất bản, MRI nổi lên như là phương pháp điều tra chính. Chỉ trong một vài trường hợp có độ phức tạp giải phẫu lớn, giờ đây cần thực hiện CT và myelo-CT. Một ví dụ là khi cuống tủy và dây chằng cuối dày lên không thể tách rời và không thể coi là các cấu trúc riêng biệt nữa. Chúng tôi đề xuất thuật ngữ “cấu trúc thần kinh sợi” để định nghĩa đơn vị cuống-tủy-dây-chằng-cuối khi các cấu trúc này không còn có thể phân biệt được.
