Một mô hình sinh học 3 chiều đã được phát triển và kết hợp với mô hình thủy động lực học, cụ thể là Mô Hình Đại Dương Princeton, để mô phỏng sự biến động theo mùa và ngân sách của nitơ vô cơ hòa tan, photphat và silicat ở Vịnh Triều Châu. Mô hình phân bố dinh dưỡng tương thích với quan sát. Silicat, yếu tố hạn chế quan trọng nhất đối với sự phát triển của fitoplankton, có đặc điểm là tiêu thụ vào mùa xuân, gia tăng vào mùa hè và mùa thu, và tích tụ vào mùa đông, trong khi nitơ vô cơ hòa tan và photphat có xu hướng gia tăng với tốc độ thấp vào mùa xuân do tải lượng sông quá mức. Fitoplankton đóng một vai trò quan trọng trong việc tái sinh dinh dưỡng thông qua quá trình quang hợp và hô hấp. Trong một chu kỳ hàng năm, 7.83 × 103 t N, 0.28 × 103 t P, và 3.93 × 103 t Si được vận chuyển ra biển ngoài của vịnh, tức là Biển Vàng, cho thấy Vịnh Triều Châu là một nguồn dinh dưỡng quan trọng cho Biển Vàng. Phân bố không gian của các chất dinh dưỡng được đặc trưng bởi các hồ sơ đồng nhất theo chiều dọc, với nồng độ cao bên trong vịnh và nồng độ thấp hướng về kênh vịnh. Những đặc điểm này chủ yếu được chi phối bởi sự khuấy trộn hỗn loạn mạnh mẽ, dòng chảy từ sông, tỷ lệ trao đổi nước và sự xâm nhập của nước Biển Vàng. Các thí nghiệm số cho thấy chính phủ nên chú ý đầy đủ đến việc bố trí hợp lý hệ thống thoát nước thải.
