Các phản ứng bắt chéo Suzuki được kích hoạt bởi chất xúc tác palladium (Pd) là các phương pháp hiệu quả cho việc tổng hợp các hợp chất hữu cơ hữu ích. Các chất xúc tác Pd đồng nhất truyền thống gặp khó khăn trong quá trình tách chiết và nhạy cảm với các điều kiện phản ứng. Tại đây, chúng tôi báo cáo về cụm Pd siêu nhỏ trên các vật liệu carbon dop nitơ. Sự tương tác điện tử mạnh giữa Pd và nitơ không chỉ làm giảm sự tụ tập của các kim loại Pd trong quá trình an annealing mà còn cung cấp điện tử cho các tâm Pd. Hiệu suất sử dụng nguyên tử cao và các tính chất giàu điện tử cho phép các cụm Pd thể hiện tần suất quay vòng cao tới 198 h−1 cho các phản ứng bắt chéo Suzuki dưới điều kiện nhẹ, gấp gần 18 lần so với các tinh thể nano Pd được hỗ trợ bởi than đen (10.5 h−1). Quan trọng hơn, không có sự suy giảm hoạt động nào được quan sát sau năm lần tái sử dụng.
