Một phương pháp đơn giản sau khi nhúng để kết hợp giữa vi thể ánh sáng và điện tử được giới thiệu. Các loại kháng nguyên khác nhau trong thận của chuột và chuột cống bình thường cũng như trong các mô từ các trường hợp viêm thận do thí nghiệm gây ra đã được nhuộm sau khi nhúng bằng Lowicryl K4M bằng phương pháp vàng miễn dịch (bạc). Các hạt vàng (được tăng cường bằng bạc) đã được quan sát bằng vi thể ánh sáng, ví dụ như bằng vi thể sáng (BFM) và vi thể tương phản phản xạ (RCM), cũng như bằng vi thể điện tử.
