Bệnh Parkinson (PD) là một rối loạn thoái hóa thần kinh tiến triển có liên quan đến stress oxy hóa. Do đó, việc tìm kiếm nguồn chất chống oxy hóa mới có thể có lợi cho việc điều trị. Bơ Persea americana là một loại trái cây được trồng rộng rãi ở các vùng nhiệt đới và cận nhiệt đới trên toàn cầu. Mặc dù các sản phẩm phụ của bơ dưới dạng vỏ, màng hạt và hạt hiện chưa có giá trị thương mại, nhưng chúng cấu thành một nguồn tự nhiên của các hợp chất sinh học hoạt tính. Chiết xuất methanolic (80%) thu được từ vỏ, màng hạt và hạt bơ các giống Hass, Fuerte, Reed và Colinred đã được phân tích về tổng hàm lượng phenolic (TPC) và mối tương quan của chúng với khả năng chống oxy hóa (AC) được đánh giá bằng các thử nghiệm ABTS, FRAP và ORAC.
