Phil was the second VINE editor, responsible for producing issues 8 to 18. He has since left libraries and library automation and is now working with the charity Traidcraft. However, on hearing that VINE had reached 100 and of the plans for this issue, he sent his best wishes for the next hundred issues together with the following biographical notes which I'm sure will interest all his former colleagues and friends. We wish him well for the future.
