Hệ thống tinh thể đơn molybdenum-tungsten là một thành phần chính trong các bộ chuyển đổi năng lượng thermionic, chuyển đổi nhiệt thành năng lượng điện một cách trực tiếp. Trong bài báo này, độ ổn định nhiệt của hệ tinh thể đơn molybdenum-tungsten đã được nghiên cứu sau khi tiếp xúc với 1873 K trong 5000 giờ. Cấu trúc vi mô được điều tra bằng cách kết hợp giữa nhiễu xạ Laue bằng tia X quét và các kỹ thuật hiển vi electron. Sau khi tiếp xúc nhiệt, bề mặt giao diện giữa lớp tungsten và nền molybdenum đã chuyển thành hình thái gợn sóng. Hơn nữa, hiện tượng tái kết tinh chỉ được quan sát thấy ở lớp tungsten. Sự khác biệt lớn về khả năng khuếch tán giữa tungsten và molybdenum đã dẫn đến việc hình thành giao diện gợn sóng. Quá trình tái kết tinh trong lớp tungsten liên quan đến ứng suất nội tại sinh ra trong quá trình tiếp xúc nhiệt độ cao. Nghiên cứu này có ý nghĩa hướng dẫn cho việc dự đoán tuổi thọ và phát triển các bộ phát tungsten thế hệ tiếp theo cho ứng dụng trong bộ chuyển đổi năng lượng thermionic.
