Microhardness and corrosion resistance of plasma sprayed bioceramic bilayer coated Ti-6Al-4V implants
Tóm tắt
The present work explores the mechanical and corrosion resistance properties of Al2O3-13wt% TiO2 (AT13) and hydroxyapatite (HAP) bilayer coated titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) bioimplants. Plasma spray coated AT13 acts as the foundation layer (thickness 75 μm) and HAP acts as the top layer (thickness 75 μm). AT13/HAP bilayer coated Ti-6Al-4V implants were characterized in terms of microstructure, chemical composition, hardness and surface roughness. The corrosion resistance and bioactivity were investigated in simulated body fluid (SBF) environment at 37 °C. The results validated that bilayer coated Ti-6Al-4V implants possessed superior corrosion resistance, polarization resistance and microhardness in comparison with monolayer coated and uncoated implants.
