Microcomputer Simulated Psychiatric Interviews Used as a Teaching Aid
Tóm tắt
A microcomputer was programmed to teach psychiatric residents and medical students basic psychiatric knowledge using short simulated patient interviews. The computer functions both as a “patient” responding to the trainee’s questions and as a “supervisor” commenting after each interchange. A description of a typical program is given with an enumeration of the educational objectives, techniques and advantages of this teaching modality. An evaluation of trainee reactions to using the computer simulation, specific advantages of using the newly available microcomputers and a sample run of an interview program are included.
